Hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and other people groups are risking their lives to start anew in Europe, where MTW has missionaries already aiding in the crisis.
Civil war and the spread of ISIS atrocities have triggered the exodus of millions from their countries throughout the Middle East. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), over 3 million have fled to Syria’s immediate neighbors and most recently, they have risked their lives to cross the Mediterranean into Greece and farther countries—with an estimated 800,000 heading to Germany to start a new life. Some estimates are much higher, up to 1.5 million by year’s end.
This influx has created a crisis among the existing refugee aid network, which were overburdened before the Syrian influx. MTW has workers in several locations in Europe who have already poured their own resources into meeting the tremendous needs of displaced people.
We need your help to continue this good work of ministering to people with the gospel of the One who cares deeply for their every need. As you can imagine, there are many teams involved, and solutions are not simple. Will you give of your resources to help Syrian refugees and those from other people groups hear the good news—and build truly “new lives” —at such a critical juncture?
